WE'LL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

Statistics

Since the foundation of Fankhauser Mangold in 2007, we have worked for about 180 customer companies and are a preferred provider for various large companies.

Over the years 2007 – 2022, these are the average results of client support:

  • 97% found a better or comparable job.
  • 84% 4 out of 5 clients, found the job of their dreams or were able to make a career move.
  • 72% had more or the same wages at the new job.
  • 55% found the job via their network or unsolicited applications.
  • 31% found the job via ads/internet.

We also see a slight trend towards self-employment, where we have our own program.
51 years was the average age of our clients.

We receive very good feedback, references and recommendations, whether it be from our clients or from our contractors.

    Better Job

    Main Aims

96% of our clients found a better or equivalent job compared to their previous one. The new job was more in line with their potential, needs and values. 77% found their dream job or made a career move. We thus achieved the primary goal of our counselling and laid the foundation for a sustainable solution.

    Salary

    Material Goal

Despite the shortage of skilled labour, we have noticed continued pressure on wages in some sectors. 50% of our clients were nevertheless able to negotiate a higher salary or maintain their salary. 38% accepted a lower salary in favour of LifeBalance or a career change. This also included those who agreed to a future wage increase. 12% had to accept a lower salary without LifeBalance benefits. Recognising one's own preferences is an integral part of our counselling.

    How was the job found?

    How to Reach Your Goal

Last year we noticed a trend in the increase of online job adverts, especially on LinkedIn. This route led to the new job for half of our clients. With 36%, spontaneous application and networking no longer represented the most promising search path, the most successful method to date to access the "hidden" job market. In addition, the search route via head-hunters and recruitment agencies, with 6%, still seems to have little significance for our clients.

    Sectors

Which sectors do our clients come from?

Our clients mainly come from the following sectors: pharma-ceuticals/chemicals, services, trade, public administration, consulting, industry as well as banks and insurance companies. Our well-founded network has enabled us to work for over 180 companies in the region of Northwestern Switzerland, which has benefited our clients.

    Age Brackets

    Age Brackets

The largest age category of our clients was between 51 and 63 years. 54% of our clients were over 50 years old. It was particularly pleasing that people in the 50+ age group found a good job with good "marketing on their own behalf" and increasingly succeeded in taking a career step. In 2022, we were once again able to advise more clients in the age category 56 to 63. We are all the more delighted that this age group is just as successful as the younger ones.

    Better Job

    Main Aims

97% of job seekers found a better or equivalent position compared to the previous one. The new job gave more consideration to their potential and needs. We have thus achieved the primary goal of our advice and laid the basis for a long-term solution.

    Salary

    Material Goal

We recognize an increasing pressure on salaries. 72% of our clients (average age 49 years) were able to negotiate a higher salary or were able to maintain their salary. 9% accepted a lower salary in favour of LifeBalance. This also includes those who have agreed to a future salary increase. 19% had to accept a lower salary without having additional non-cash benefits. Recognizing your own preferences is an integral part of our advice.

    How was the job found

    How to Reach Your Goal

With 55% the spontaneous application and networking provided the most promising search route to get to the "hidden" job market, followed by 31% with job advertisements that were mostly found "online". Furthermore, it seems that the search route via Head Hunter and recruiters loses importance for our clients with 5%.

    New Industry

    Which were the Target Industries

When signing a new contract, our clients opted especially
for the sectors Pharma/Chemistry, Services, Commerce, Public Administration, Consulting, Industry and for Banks/Insurances. Our broad network enables the job search to be extended to other sectors.

    Age Brackets

    Age Brackets

The largest age category of our clients is between 51 and 55 years. 56% of our clients were over 50 years old. It was encouraging that people in the 50+ age group found with a good “self-marketing” a good job, some even made a career step. In 2021, we were able to consult more clients from the age category 56 to 65. We are all the more pleased that this age group is just as successful as the younger ones.

In 2020 98% of our clients found a new job with our support, 81% of them a better one, despite the loss of classic networking channels such as events, aperitifs and lectures. The salary situation remained stable, 65% negotiated a higher salary or were able to maintain the salary. 16% decided to take a lower salary in favour of LifeBalance. With 42% Networking and spontaneous applications were the most promising search methods. Head hunters and job placement agencies were only of minor importance at 4%.

The salary situation remained stable, 70% negotiated a higher salary or were able to keep the salary. 17% decided to take a lower salary in favour of LifeBalance. With 42% Networking and spontaneous applications were the most promising search routes. Head hunters and job placement agencies were only of minor importance at 4%.

When signing a new contract, our clients opted especially for the sectors Pharma/Chemistry, Services, Commerce, Public Administration, Consulting, Industry and for Banks/Insurances. However, we are observing a trend away from Pharma/Chemistry towards new industries (26% to 30% in the previous year). Our broad network enables the job search to be extended to other sectors.

In 2018, our clients achieved the following results with our support, despite the slow recovery of the Swiss economy and a difficult environment (strong Swiss, restructuring in the financial sector and in the life science industry).

We are particularly pleased about the fact that 98% of our clients found their desired job. Below are the results in detail:

    Better Job

    Main Aim
98% of jobseekers found a better resp. equivalent job compared to the previous one. The new job is better suited to their potential and needs. We have thus largely achieved the main aim of our consultancy and laid the foundation for a long-term solution.

    Salary

    Material Goal
We recognize an increasing pressure on salaries. 75% of our clients (average age 49 years) were able to negotiate a higher salary or were able to maintain their salary. 25% had to accept a (slight) drop in their salary. In some cases, jobseekers were willing to accept a reduced salary in order to ensure a better work-life balance. Recognizing personal preferences is an integral part of our consultancy service.

    How was the job found?

    How to Reach Your Goal
Networking and unsolicited applications still proved to be the most successful route to take, at 49%. However, we recommend trying all possible routes. Searching for a job through advertisements / internet stayed on the approximate level of the past year, at 36%.

    New Industry

    Which Were the Target Industries
When signing a new contract, our clients notably decided on the Pharma / Chemistry, Services, Commerce, Public Administration, Consulting, Industry and Banks / Insurances sectors. However, we are observing a trend away from Pharma / Chemistry into other sectors (30% to 41% in the previous year). Our broad network enables our clients to extend their job search to other industries.

    Age Brackets

    Age Brackets
50% of our clients were aged 50 or above. The good news was that people in the age group 50+ also found a good job with the aid of good “self-marketing”; some even made a career move.

    Search Times

As a general rule, the search time increases the higher the functional level, salary and age lies.
